Stanford Electric Supply, Inc. respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website does and does not collect, and how to reach us with a question about it.

The short version

This is an informational website. It has no contact forms, no shopping cart, no customer accounts, no comments, and no newsletter sign-up. We set no cookies of our own and carry no advertising or social media trackers. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and collects nothing that identifies you. You can read every page of it without giving us any information about yourself.

There is one exception, and it is the only one: our Locations page shows a Google map of each store. Opening that page loads those maps from Google, which means Google — not us — receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. Every other page on this site is served entirely by our own website and its host.

Information we collect through this website

Directly from you: none. There is nowhere on this site to submit your name, email address, phone number, or any other detail about yourself.

Automatically: standard server records. Like every website, this one is delivered by a hosting provider — Cloudflare, Inc. — that keeps routine technical logs of the requests it serves. Those records can include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, and general information about your browser and device. Cloudflare uses them to deliver the site, keep it available, and protect it from attacks and abuse, and holds them under Cloudflare’s privacy policy rather than this one. We do not use them to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine them with any other information.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies of its own. It does not use Google Analytics, does not run advertising or retargeting pixels, and does not embed social media tracking. Nothing we put on this site follows you to other websites.

To understand how many people use the site, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service of our hosting provider. It works without cookies and does not fingerprint your browser or track you across other websites. It reports totals such as page views, the pages visited, the site that referred you, and your general country and type of device. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors. Cloudflare handles this information under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Google may set cookies of its own through the maps on our Locations page. Those cookies are Google’s, set under Google’s privacy policy, and we neither read them nor receive anything from them. The section below explains what that involves.

Fonts, images, and other page assets

Every font, image, and script this site uses is served from this website itself, apart from the small Cloudflare Web Analytics script described above, which comes from our host. Apart from that script and the maps described below, the site makes no request to Google Fonts, an outside script or font service, or any other third party while you are reading it, so no company other than our host learns that you visited.

Maps on our Locations page

Our Locations page includes a Google map for each of our two stores, so you can see where we are before you drive out. Those maps are supplied by Google and load directly from Google’s servers when the page opens.

That means Google receives your IP address and general browser information, and may set cookies or read cookies it has already set in your browser, in the same way it would if you visited Google Maps yourself. What Google does with that information is governed by Google’s privacy policy, not by this one. We do not receive any of it, and we have no way to identify you from it.

If you would rather not load anything from Google, you can skip the Locations page. Both store addresses are printed in the footer of every page on this site, and we are glad to give you directions over the phone.

Links to other websites

Some pages link out to sites we do not operate, including our online product catalog on the ElectricSmarts Network and the website of the agency that built this site. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s website, under their privacy policy, not ours. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of sites we link to.

Contacting us by phone or mail

If you call or write to us, we will have whatever information you choose to give us in that conversation — your name, your phone number, what you are looking for. We use it to answer your question and serve your order. This policy covers this website; it does not describe how we handle customer account records, credit applications, or order history. If you have a question about that, please call or write and ask.

Children

This website is directed to businesses and to the general public. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it.

Your choices

Because this website collects nothing from you directly, there is nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have a question about information you have given us over the phone, in person, or on a credit application, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

If we add a contact form, analytics, or any other feature that changes what this website collects, we will update this policy and change the date at the top of this page before that feature goes live.
